Tunisia: ATUC holds a seminar on the promotion of social dialogue

Tunisia – Arab Trade Union Confederation ATUC carried out a regional seminar that brought together civil society and representatives of trade unions to study and research the pilot project for the promotion of social dialogue in the southern bank of the Mediterranean under the supervision of the ATUC. . The seminar was attended by more than 40 trade unionists and activists in Arab trade unions and Arab civil society organizations from The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, the The Tunisian General Labour Union, The Moroccan Workers Union , the Moroccan Democratic Confederation of Labour  and the Algerian Independent Trade Unions, as well as associations and organizations from Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon and Palestine. . The first day of the seminar saw a discussion on the relationship between social dialogue and the objectives of sustainable development on the current issues such as poverty, unemployment, the informal sector, combating corruption, and discrimination against women, the environment, vocational education and migrant workers. During the first day, participants in the seminar were divided into working groups to discuss the objectives of sustainable development through three dimensions: the legislative dimension, the institutional dimension, the economic and social dimension. On the second day of the seminar, the conclusions were presented on these three dimensions and the groups discussed the recommendations.
