Egypt –Egypt Trade Union Federation workers organized a protest to demand the payment of the Eid grant and the special allowance paid to the employees of the state, estimated at 10% of the insurance wage, and the removal of the current administrative committee under the chairmanship of Jabali Al-Maraghi. The workers announced the start of an open sit-in at the headquarters of the Union, pending the implementation of their demands, which also included the disbursement of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha grants. The deputy chairman of union committee, Issam Ezzat, said that the board refuses to respond to the demands of workers, stressing that workers suffer from nonpayment of their salaries on time. The deputy chairman of the union committee pointed out that this crisis does not only include workers in the Union, but extends to the employees of the local unions in the governorates.
