Lebanon – In a video posted on social networking sites a sister of a domestic worker working in Lebanon appealed to the Philippine Embassy in Lebanon to retrieve her sister and free her from her employer, who is an influential figure in Lebanon. Halima is a Filipina worker who has been working in Lebanon for 10 years, she has sent her family in Philippines a sum of money just once and has made one call but now they knows anything about her. The page that contributed in shedding the light on the case to the public opinion said that the employer says that Halima is very happy, and he refused to let her speak or to communicate with anyone. The owner of the page also called on people to sign a petition that would pressure the family, the Lebanese government and the Ministry of Labour to move the case.
