Egypt: Omar Effendi workers demand their company to reopen a branch

Egypt – Workers of Omar Effendi Company, an affiliated of the Holding Company for Construction and Reconstruction, are demanding the company to reopen Ahmed Orabi branch in Mohandeseen after the end of cooperation protocol between the Industry Modernization Authority and Omar Effendi. Mohamed Labib, one of the employees of the company, who was filed against the contract of selling Omar Effendi, said that the end of the protocol is like bringing Omar Effendi back to life as this branch making more than 55 million pounds annually. Labib explained that the Orabi branch in a vital area that  will ensure maximizing return that benefits the parent company and its employees. He added: We hope to benefit from every asset of Omar Effendi company, which contributes to the profit, and called on the current Prime Minister to quickly intervene to meet their demands and reopen the branch and develop other branches.
