Mauritania – A number of Coast Guard workers demanded a better work conditions, warning that continued disregard of their situation will have negative repercussions. A spokesman for the group Wali Weld al-Saad said that a group of 195 young men who have education certification been working in the Maritime Control Commission for a long time before being instructed by an adviser of the Fisheries and Marine Economy Minister to suspend their duties instead of correcting their legal status. He denounced at the fact that the concerned authorities ignored their only request to correct their legal status, even though they had been monitoring Mauritanian territorial waters in the country for a long time.
