Morocco: Ten workers injured in hotel fire

Morocco – A fire broke out in a hotel in Marrakech, in which more than ten workers were suffocated. They were rushed to the emergency department of Ibn Tufail Hospital for treatment. The intervention teams rushed to the scene and made a great effort to prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of the hotel establishment. The firefighters, who used two trucks dedicated to transporting water, were able to take complete control of the fire, which causes remain unknown, at a time when some sources referred to an electrical contact. According to sources from the scene, the fire broke out in the hotel kitchen, and spread rapidly to the huge area of the restaurant, leaving panic and fear among workers and customers who fled, before the civil protection arrived quickly to the scene, using modern equipment to control the fire.
