Algeria – The Federation of Municipal Workers affiliated to the National Union of Community workers (SNAPAP) decided to go on strike and paralyze the municipalities for three consecutive days beginning on September 25, and concluding with a march in the state of Bouira against the authorities for ignoring of their demands. The call for the strike came according to the unions statement, to denounce the interior ministrys disregard of the petition filed by the Federation concerning their legal demands. The demands include reviewing the general law of the public service as well as the basic laws of municipal workers, As well as the demand to maintain the retirement formula without age requirement taking into account the length of service, and allow the trade unions to take part in tripartite meetings and all government decisions regarding the professional and social life of workers
