Kuwait – The Kuwait Society for Human Rights has raised a lot of controversy after demanding the deportation of all foreign expatriates from Kuwait. The discrimination against expatriates has increased recently, and this is apparently what prompted the association to demand their deportation. Deport all migrants from KUWAIT, said Khalid al-Hamidi, head of the association. He explained that migrant workers suffer from government decisions that violate and contradict the procedures and the statements of some deputies towards the composition of the population. Al-Humaidi suggested that all migrant workers be deported from Kuwait. This will preserve their dignity in life, as long as there is discrimination against migrant workers. He demanded to hold accountable those who incite hatred, pointing out that until mid-2017 migrant workers were subjected to violent racist attack and an unprecedented escalation through statements by some MPs in the Parliament.Al-Humaidi said that the most prominent problems facing expatriate workers is salary delay and the suffocation of passports by the sponsor, in addition to long working hours. He added that there are government violations against expatriates; some of them were deportation to the country, perhaps the most prominent were deportation of employees who protested against non payment of salaries for more than three months in companies with government contracts.
