ALGERIA -The workers of the Urban and Sub-Urban Public Transportation in Ghardaia Municipality went on an open strike in front the headquarters of the Foundation, demanding the removal of the Director, due to his failure in running of the Company, they raised slogans demanding the end of arbitrary decisions. The representatives of the union branch of the Company affiliated to Algerian Workers Union stressed the need to remove the Director, since he did not respond to their legitimate demands, although they sent many complaints to government officials. The head of the union branch, Bida Mohamad, revealed that the director issued 15 warnings, 15 written questions and 5 dismissal against the workers, adding that he is threatening the union branch in various ways, asking them not to move, and turn a blind eye to the suffering of workers, which led to the destruction of the unions office in front of the surveillance camera. The protesters expressed strong dissatisfaction with the abuse they receive from the management of the Company, from provocations and threats of dismissal. drivers said that some “buss have light of breaks faults yet the management force us to drive them risking our lives and the lives if passengers, and they threat that they would dismiss us if we reject, they also make us pay the fines from our salaries”.
