Lebanon – The Executive Council of the Federation of Unions of Banks Employees in Lebanon said the decision of the Constitutional Council to revoke the tax law beginning to return to the state of institutions that are the guarantor of the rights and interests of all segments of the Lebanese people. The Council supports the position of the General Labor Union leadership and the Trade Union Coordination Committee, which rejects any delay in paying salaries of beneficiaries of wage hike law approved by the House of Representatives, and wishes the government to objectively deal with this file in order to maintain social stability, which contributesto the advancement of the national economy. The Council called on the Minister of Labour to speed up the call for the Index Committee to discuss the issue of the minimum wage, which is the demand of all workers in Lebanon. The Council also called on all those involved in the restructuring the Board of Directors of the National Fund for Social Security to choose the specialists to manage the affairs of the Fund in order to maintain its national of nearly one million workers. The Council call on the banking departments to respect the pension system after retirement and the administrative increase, which must be paid before the beginning of April 2017 and the continuity of work, It also considers this subject to be one of the first topics to be discussed at the first session of the negotiations for the renewal of the collective contract assumed to begin before the end of this year.
