Tunisia – The Regional Administrative Commission in Siliana decided the go on a general strike to protest against closing the case of security weapon attacks against the people who protested in 2012 to demand their right to fair development and employment. Siliana unionists and human right activists considered t the decision to close the case as an attempt by the authorities to cover up on the real officials who gave instructions for the attack on the peaceful protestors with birdshot weapons that is prohibited internationally and deliberately conceal the truth. The defense body of the victims presented detailed documents confirm the responsibility of the Minister of Interior in 2012 and his security team who issued instructions and ordered to use the weapon which resulted in injury of hundreds of citizens who lost their sight or suffered injuries to the face and body. The residents of Siliana are expected to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the events on 27 November and to organize protests demanding the truth in coordination between the Tunisian General Labour Union and the components of civil society.
