Algeria – The retirees of Gengaz, affiliated to the National Company for Electricity and Gas, protested in front of the national solidarity of gas and electricity workers in the capital because of the delay in paying the supplementary grant for retirement estimated at 20% for 1500 retirees since 2011. The retirees said during the vigil that they currently benefit only 80% of the states pension, while the other 20% that Gengaz should pay have not been paid out since 2011 even though it is a legitimate right. The Director General of the Company assured them that the files of retirees are currently being studied and suggested that the payment of the late grants retroactively from 1 January 2017.
