Tunisia: Fuel and goods transportation unions to postpone strike

Tunisia – The General Transport Union affiliated to the Tunisian General Labour Union has postponed their strike, which was due to take place on 26, 27 and 28 October. They issued a statement in which they explained the reasons behind this decision “Due to the absence of employers for the second time we decided to postpone the strike to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November. The General Secretary of the Union Moncef bin Ramadan, said that the decision to strike was caused by the failure of the Tunisian Federation for Industry, Trade and Handicrafts to increase the wages of workers as was decided in 2016, “around 13 thousand workers in this sector are waiting for this increase”.
