Algeria — More than 600 workers in the municipal of Sharafa found themselves unemployed, after the authorities refused to renew their contracts and dismissed them without any prior notice. This led to the uprising of the workers who protested in front of the headquarters of the Sarabat circle to meet with the head of the department to protest against the decision, as non of the officials took responsibility for the decision. the Sharafa municipality alone employs 2,800 workers, some of them do not even show to work and are being paid. However, they dismissed those who do work and some of them have been working there for more than eight years. Workers said they will keep protesting until they meet their demands. Workers called on concerned authorities to intervene immediately to solve their problem
