Morocco – Some workers of Vetlis company for urban transport in Tetouan went on strike since last Friday, in the garage of the company, to protest against the decision taken by the Director of the company to suspend 84 drivers for establishing a trade union affiliated to the Moroccan Union of Labour. . According to a statement by some of the protesters, a colleague was attacked at dawn last Friday. Protesters showed pictures of the driver who was exposed to many injuries in the head, nose and knee, which required him to be transferred to a hospital for treatment and got a medical certificate. The protesters demanded the employer to respect the labour law and regulate working hours, holidays and respect workers dignity, and to provide safety conditions and prevent hazards. Many of the protesters said in statements that the scale of arbitrariness and injustice practiced by the companys management and its stubborn will only increase the workers insistence on continuing the strike, and they will not stop until the return of their colleagues. The unions office was surprised by the authoritarianism exercised by the companys management against its workers by violating the most basic rights .
