Morocco: Samir workers protest to demand the reopen of the refinery

Morocco – Hundreds of workers from the Moroccan refining company Samir marched yesterday to Casablanca in front of the central headquarters of the Democratic Confederation of Labour, to demand the reopen of their company that has stopped production long time ago. Trade union officials in the unified trade union office of Samir Company workers, a member of the National Union of Petroleum and Gas Industries, affiliated to the Democratic Confederation of Labour, specified their demands which is urgent resumption of production at the oil refinery in the city of Muhammadiyah and maintain  the various contributions of this industry in the economic and social development of Morocco and in the local development of the city of Muhammadiyah and Casablanca. The Union said in a press statement that they demand the authorities to save thousands of jobs in the company of Samir, and preserve the rights of its workers and retirees
