Iraq – The Directorate of Water Resources in Muthanna announced new mechanism to pay the salaries of workers in the irrigation stations that has not been paid for the last three years ago, explaining that this mechanism includes collecting the wages from the water consumers associations, which was established in some areas of the province. The Director of Water Resources in Al Muthanna Ali Abdul Hussain said that the Department will follow this system due to the lack of financial allocations at the present time, pointing out that the Water Consumers Associations provide wages of up to 150 thousand dinars per month per worker, explaining that the number of these workers is 174 workers distributed to 32 Irrigation station and indicated that the late wages will be paid in the coming period after the completion of audit process.
