Tunisia to create Social insurance for laid-off workers

Tunisia – Tunisia intends to introduce a system to insure citizens who lost their jobs within the framework of an independent fund that includes workers in the private sector, according to Director General of Social Security at the Ministry of Social Affairs Kamal al-Madouri. Al-Mudouri said that the fund would be a tri-finance, ie, the contribution of employers and workers equally and with the support of the State. The financing, management, terms of use, duration and accompaniment for the integration of the economic cycle shall be determined by agreement between the parties to the social contract.
