Mauritania: Trade unionists object the non-renewal of union representation plan

Mauritania – trade unionists in all sectors objected the non-renewal of a plan to organize union representation in official and non-official bodies, pointing out that the previous plan that was prepared by the Mauritanian government in cooperation with the International Labour Organization ended at the end of October. Trade unionists consider trade union representation as the focus of trade union organizations indicating that trade union representation is the direct mechanism for ensuring periodic review of labour legislation and for employers to hold annual negotiations to study the compatibility of general conditions of life with work incomes.
