Iraq votes to join the Freedom of Association Convention

Iraq – The House of Representatives voted Monday on the laws of Iraqs accession to Freedom of Association and the International Safeguards conventions.  A parliamentary source said that the Council voted during its regular session held today on the draft law to that allows the Republic of Iraq join  the Freedom of Association and Protection of Trade Union Organization Convention No. (87) of 1948. The source added that parliament also voted on a draft law that allows the Republic of Iraq to join the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and its Protocol on matters relating to aircraft equipment.
