Un rapport émis par l’Organisation internationale du Travail, en lien avec ses travaux en Egypte de la période du 13 au 16 novembre dernier, indique que les amendements apportés par la Chambre des députés égyptienne au niveau de la loi de l’organisation syndicale provoquent beaucoup d’inquiétudes quant aux libertés syndicales.

The report of the ILOs direct contact mission, concerning its work in Egypt from 13 to 16 November stated that the amendments introduced by the Egyptian parliament to the drafting of a set of articles on the trade union law, recently approved by the parliament, raise concerns about its impact on achieving freedom of association.
The report noted that Egyptian authorities and laws do not treat trade unions in an equal way regarding their formation and settlement.
The report pointed to the need to make amendments to the law and further clarification of some vague articles. This includes Article 11 , the article on the minimum required membership ,in an establishment to form a trade union committee identified of 150 workers, in light of the large number of small enterprises in the country, and the article about receiving foreign funding, which entails the inequality of trade unions.
