A new study by “Bayt.com”, the biggest and most well-known job website in the Middle East, has shown that 93% of women working in Jordan are familiar with the labour law of the kingdom to a certain extent. Moreover,74% of the surveyed women believe that the labour law in Jordan is fair to women, at least to some extent. Whereas, only 13% believe that it is unfair.
According to the study, 75.9% of women stress that they enjoy o equality, at the same level as women in Western countries.
Sixty-five percent of the respondents express satisfaction with working in a mixed work environment, with more than one-third (36%) expressing their full satisfaction, while 30% show their neutrality and only 5% saythat the environment is uncomfortable.
Sixty-eight percent of the respondents report that they work for almost equal hours with male colleagues, while 8% say they work for less hours, 15% affirm that they work for more hours, and 9% with no answer.
