Amnesty International has warned against the continued exploitation of migrant workers, working in the construction of the 2022 World Cup stadiums, noting in their latest report that they are being exploited.
The organization emphasized that what is happening to the workers in the construction sector of the football that will be hosting the World Cup, in Qatar is considered as modern slavery. In addition, they stressed that more than 88% of them have paid heavy fees to get the job illegally and they receive half of the salary they had been promised, as well as the lack of occupational safety, where many injuries and deaths occurred in work accidents in Doha stadiums.
