The authorities in the governorate of Basra decided to re-employ thousands of janitors with a daily wage, after being fired because of lack of funding, which led to the accumulation of waste in the city.
The authorities have acknowledged that the return of about 5,800 workers was doneon Wednesday until the adoption of the general budget and reaching a final solution. In addition, the governorate will bear the difference in financial allocations to pay workers and ensure the continuation of janitors’work.
