The employees of “the Arab Bank of Tunisia” carried out a successful strike on Thursday in all its subsidiaries of the country to protest against the intransigence of public administration and not to respond to the professional and social demands addressed for some time.
The employees demanded the enjoyment of a number of grants and remuneration legally stipulated and enjoyed by most employees of private and public banks, and to refrain from the grievances and abuses they face, including the absence of annual leave and deteriorating working conditions in several subsidiaries.
The union of the Arab Bank of Tunisia of the General Union of Tunisian Labour (UGTT) called in its statement on the occasion of the strike to the implementation of the law and considered that workers of the bank are less fortunate to enjoy social benefits and that successive generations have been deprived of these privileges enjoyed by other banking institutions, blaming the public administration for the deterioration of the social climate within the institution.
