The Philippine government has rejected Libyas request to lift the current ban on the recruitment of Filipino workers to Libya, on the grounds of security and economic concerns.
The Philippine government considers that, it is impossible to deploy new workers in Libya, under the current warning level for the safety of all parties, as well as the inability of Filipinos to return profits to their country.
The Philippine government has repatriated some 10,000 Filipino workers to their homes after 2011 and about 4,000 others in 2014.
