Dozens of contracted electricity workers and owners of daily wages launched a protest , yesterday ,in the center of Baghdad, raising slogans ,calling for the settlement of their professional and social situations.
The protesters asked for their registration in the Ministry of Electricity as official works, and for being covered by the law of retirement and social security for workers No. 39 of 1971. It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Labour Law No. 37 of 2015 included contractors and employees of daily wage system in all regions of the state and public sectors, and provided legal protection to those groups …
