The owners of shops in the governance of Khan Younis in the southern sector of Gaza launched a general strike, yesterday against the difficult economic conditions.
The owners of the shops complain about the poor economic conditions and the deterioration of the purchasing power of citizens, especially in the last ten months that followed the imposition of punitive measures by the Palestinian Authority on employees, which resulted in delaying the payment of workers’ salaries.
The shop owners demanded the leadership of the Palestinian Authority to take urgent measures to save the market from collapsing and improve the living conditions of citizens, as well as strengthen their purchasing power.
