Despite its profits, the Tunisian bank decides to reduce its employees and protests are coming in sight

Workers of the trade and industry bank (UBCI) are expected to carry out a full-day strike on 18 June in all its subsidiaries in the country.

The employees protest against the decision of the banks general management to reduce the number of employees to 200 and close a number of subsidiaries of the institution, despite the large profits achieved by the bank in its transactions.

For its part, the General Union of Banks of (UGTT) considered that the initiative to close the subsidiaries and reduce the number of employees is an arbitrary order projected by the parent institution «BNP PARIBAS», which will create serious and negative repercussions on the institution, the sector and the country.
