The Deputy Secretary General of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade, “Abdul Quader Al-Chihabi”, revealed that the Bahraini labour market is experiencing a major imbalance in terms of national employment, which reached the rate of 5 foreign workers for one Bahraini.
The General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions calls on the Ministry of Labour to take responsibility in preventing discrimination in employment by conducting inspections on the extentto which people adhere to the agreement 111, which has been ratified, affecting 18 types of discrimination. Moreover, the Government should take its partin reforming the labour market, where the difference between the proportion of migrant workers and national employment in the private sector has become large
