In conjunction with the weakness of the qualifications of the Saudis: the departure of foreign workers will affect the economic performance

Experts stressed that the Saudi economy will face more trouble in the coming due to the wave of migrant workers’ departure, in addition to the absence of qualified local workers. This may disrupt the work of most of the companies, factories and service institutions in the country, as well as the decline in their productivity, which depends on more than 10 million migrant workers, but the Saudis were not prepared to work there, and the consumer market was affected.

Foreign workers in Saudi Arabia are facing increasing challenges, starting with high housing fees, rising commodity, fuel prices and new taxes. All these factors prompt hundreds of thousands of Asian and Arab workers to return home to about 600,000 workers in 2017,as part of a government plan to resettle Saudi workers and reduce the unemployment rate of Saudi citizens.

A large part of the expatriates works in Saudi Arabia in jobs that the Saudis refuse to work in, such as cleaning works, restaurants, hotels and domestic services. The other part is the mainstay of the labour force in construction, industry, trade, transport, maintenance and health services.
