Production has been completelystopped at the Tunisian Chemical Complex in the governorate of“Gabes” due to the depletion of phosphate stocks, following of the strike carried out in the areas of the mining basin.

The administration of the chemical complex announced that the production stopped completely in two factories, which will cause the cessation of activity of all the neighbouringfactories, which are supplied with phosphoric acid, phosphates and agricultural fertilizers, in addition to their impact onthe breakdown of the exportation process, which will inflict heavy losses on the country.

Actually, the 3,400 workers of the Tunisian Chemical Complex in “Gabes” are currently undergoing equipment maintenance with the non- availability of phosphates. Noting that the re-activation of the industrial units requires a period of at least two weeks to cool and restart the equipment.
