The Jordanian cabinet has decided to grant a month-long deadline for illegal migrant workers to settle their situations starting from next February the 4th.
The Jordanian government called on all non-Jordanian workers present in the kingdom to insist in abiding by the Jordanian Labour Law. In addition, they called on the necessity of settling their situations, according to the determinedperiod andto benefitfrom the exemptions given to them, either when renewing the permits or for the fines they had for previous years or upon the final departure from the kingdom during the limited period.
The government warned that if any worker violates the labour law is caught, he will be immediately sent out of the country after paying fines.
The inspection campaigns will be intensified after the end of the prescribed period of time, which will target all employers and expatriates working in the kingdom of all nationalities in various sectors to ascertain their commitment to decisions and laws..
