MAURITANIA- The General Confederation of Mauritanian Workers (CGTM) decided to call workers in Mauritania to prepare for work stoppages in solidarity with “SNIM” workers, who are on strike over a month ago.
At a meeting held on March 24, seven trade union centers, CGTM, CLTM, CNTM, UGSTM, UGSPM, MTCC and USLM will start preparing for work stoppages in solidarity with striking workers.
Vast majority of workers in mining company participated as well, where the number of strikers stood at 3,786 miners out of 4500 in Zouérat’s, and 1,356 out of 1,600 in Nouadhibou.
