IRAQ— Iraq Bar Association President Mohammad Feisal said that the protests held in front of the Green Zone in Baghdad are not violating laws and the constitutions, calling for the drafting of a new parties’ law.
In a speech he delivered from the front of the Green Zone, Feisal stressed, “current protests are violating the Iraqi law or the country’s Constitution”.
He called on the Parliament to enact a new law for political parties.
Nouri Al Maliki, former prime minister has considered the protest held on Saturday (March 26) as violation of the Constitution.
The protest led by Maqtada Sader seeks to eliminate sectorial quota.
