The Independent Unions to adopt measures defending their rights

EGYPT— Several independent trade union representatives met on Friday to discuss “draft laws” related to regulating trade unions work.

The meeting that was called for by the Center for Trade Union and Workers’ Services expressed dissatisfaction with the draft law presented by the Egyptian Trade Union Federation, noting that the bill is a copy of the current 35-year old current law..

Trade unionists who also attended the meeting said this draft law is part of the continuous work against the independent unions.

They agreed to adopt several measures to defend the freedom of association and to address the people of Egypt on the importance of independent trade unions.
