JAFCCO workers end their protest after signing an agreement with the management

JORDAN— the Jordan Abyad Fertilizers and Chemicals Company’s (JAFCCO) signed an agreement with the workers in mining and phosphate union, ending a protest that workers started on March 8.

The agreement came following several meetings that were attended by Minister of Labor Nidal Katamine, head of the Lower House Labor and Social Development Committee Abdullah Obeidat and representatives of the union and the company.

On the sidelines of the agreement signing event, Katamine said the ministry is always keen to protest workers’ rights, while ensuring investors’ concerns.

He added that a settlement has been reached between the company and workers, stipulating disbursing the saving fund dues, the 13th and 14th salaries and the extra work payments, in addition to the 2016 annual raise.
