ALGERIA— The Education Directorate in Algeria has expelled one of the teachers who took part in the contractual teachers strike, going against directives of the ministry that said no teachers will be laid off.
According to a complaint submitted by the yndicat Nationnal Autonome des Personnels de lAdministration Publique (SNAPAP), this female teacher, was a victim for the directorate procedures.
“Although all teachers resumed their work after the strike, and despite pledges by the ministry that no teachers will be expelled, the education directorate has fired one teaches,” the syndicate said.
The teacher in question, however, has addressed minister of education explaining the procedure taken against her.
