ALGERIA— Unionists and workers on Wednesday (January 6) protested in front of Sonelgaz (Algerias state-owned gas and electricity utility company) calling for fair wages among other demands.
The protest comes as part of series of a nation-wide protests that workers are planning to organize in different branches of the company.
Through these protests, workers and unionists are expressing their rejection to “privatization”, corruption and discrimination.
In addition, they called for the annulment of a collective agreement that they consider as a “discriminatory” one.
