IRAQ— The Human Trafficking Court in Iraq announced the arrest of a group of persons who were holding 39 Bengalese to blackmail their families.
According to Al Sumaria news website, in a court distributed statement, the Bengalese were found in a 200sqm house under difficult conditions with obvious signs of torture.
It added that authorities detained two Bengalese who admitted to blackmail families of the “victims” and that they work with Iraqi nationals.
They also admitted that they ask families of each of the victims for up to $2000 to release them. Their share is $200.
