Palestine –Palestine _ The Palestinian High Court of Justice postponed today the decision in regards to the appeal submitted by the General Federation of Trade Unions of Palestine contrary to the Ministry of Labour and Palestine Monetary Authoritys measures to freeze bank accounts related to the Trade Unions and Federations of Palestine; to the twentieth of September and this is the eighth time that the judgment has been postponed.
The previous decision issued by the court to postpone the consideration of the lawsuit came justified “to enable the prosecution to complete the submission of its information and to receive the responses to the correspondent administrative authorities that owns the subject of the lawsuit.
But sources from the legal department of the Federation of Trade Unions of Palestine declare that deferring the action on the case for the fifth time in a row violates article 62 of the Palestinian law because the prosecution and the party they represent did not attach the information with its list of responses required of them within one week from the date notified.
The request to freeze the Federation and Unions accounts submitted by the Palestinian Ministry of Labour and Monetary Authority has been implemented since the fifteenth of March, and is still in effect. As this has left negative repercussions on the work and programs of the Trade Unions and Federations; in particular relating to the rights and salaries of its employees and part-timers according to confirmed sources from the leadership of the Trade Unions and Federations.
