The Spanish Ministry of the Interior announced in a report that the number of illegal migrants who arrived to Spain by sea declined during the first seven months of this year by 27 % compared to the same period in 2019.
The Spanish Ministry of Interior confirmed in a report entitled “Illegal migration from January 1 to July 31, 2020”, the contents of which were published by local media on Wednesday, that 9.700 illegal migrants arrived to Spanish shores by boat until the end of last July, compared to 13.000 and 303 illegal migrants during the same period in 2019, which is a decrease by 27 %.
Regarding the number of illegal migrants who entered Spain during the same period via land, the report confirmed that this number moved from 3313 clandestine migrants during the first seven months of 2019 to 1.383 illegal migrants in the same period of the current year, which is a decrease of 58%.
