Social media sites in Egypt have transmitted videos of the testimony of a ten-year-old girl, in which she narrated the torture that she was subjected to at the hands of her employers in the city of Giza.
In front of the Public Prosecution Office, the child stated that she obtained her work in this house through a broker who agreed with her mother on a salary of 500 pounds per month.
The child said that as soon as she entered this house, the owner of the house would get angry for any reason and hit me constantly and she was always threatening me to burn my body, which she did later after she poured hot water on my body after she found me sleeping in the kitchen because of extreme fatigue. He did not hesitate to slap me or burn me with cigarettes for the trivial reason.
She said that she had thought of escaping more than once, but she was afraid of being lost due to her lack of knowledge of the city, especially as it came from an Egyptian countryside.
Concerning her relationship with her mother, the girl said that her mother used to block her and warn her from leaving her job.
The Egyptian prosecution is continuing to investigate the incident after the owner of the house and his wife were arrested as well as the mediator who was charged with human trafficking.
Several Egyptian media sources also confirmed that the employer was a former police officer.
