Due to the poor economic conditions inthe Gaza Strip: a general strike for shops will be launched, next Monday

The Chamber of Commerce in the Gaza Strip decided to enter a general strike for shops, next Monday, to protest against the difficult economic conditions of the citizens.

The Chamber of Commerce blamed the deterioration in all levels of life standards in the Gaza Strip for international institutions, where unemployment rates rose to 46%, unemployedpeople rate reached a quarter of a million people, while poverty rates rose to 65%, as well as, the decline of the purchasing power in all economic sectors, which led to the liquidity to its lowest level, during decades.

The Chamber of Commerce asked for an urgent intervention to open the “Rafah “crossing for individuals and commercial goods on a permanent basis in order to alleviate the sufferings of citizens and traders. The international community, international institutions and the United Nations also called for putting pressure on Israel to open all Gaza crossings to the movement for individuals and goods,  to avoid Gaza  from economic, social and environmental disaster.
