Tunisia: The beginning of collective bargaining for wage increases next month

“Noureddine Tabboubi”, Secretary-General of the General Union of Tunisian Workers(UGTT), revealed that the collective bargaining for the increase inworkers’ wages in both public and private sector will be launched in the coming months.

He pointed out that there is a possibility of starting these negotiations, both sides of the arrangement and financial in all sectors in late February / February. He stressed that the minimum real wage must not be less than 866 dinars (350 dollars) instead of 350 dinars (120 dollars) currently, due to high inflation and deterioration of the purchasing power and the slide of the Tunisian dinar by 21% compared to the euro.
